Summative Assessment Tools are generally provided as part of a framework from your district. The reason these tools are provided by the district is because the frameworks have been vetted for security and reliability.

Summative Tools (as part of a school framework):
-- DyKnow
-- CrossTec SchoolVue
-- Moodle Quizzes
-- Blackboard Quizzes

Depending on your activities and your creativity, Summative Assessment Tools might also include:
-- Ning Blog posts
-- Museumbox 'reports'
-- Prezi presentations
-- ToonDo cartoons
-- Google Forms

Formative assessment lends itself very well to the variety of mediums the internet can provide. Some of these tools are better in specific situations than others, only you can make the decisions about each tool in each situation.

-- Survey Monkey
-- Google Forms
-- MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) Tests
-- Short Web Quest (choose your own adventure style WebQuest)
-- Moodle Choices
-- Blackboard Survey
-- Internet Forums or chat (Ning, Moodle, etc)
-- E-mail surveys
-- SchoolVue quick response
-- Online ability assessments

We feel that the most diverse and easy to use of these assessments is Google Forms. Part of the reason is because it can be universally accessed, and the ability to manipulate and validate answers is amazing.

Next we will be building our own Google Forms .
